I'm Scott Arsenault and I have an addiction, yes I have an addiction to wood. I have been carving for over 19 years and can't stop. I belong to a club full of addicts called the "Central Mass Caricature Carvers" we meet in Fitchburg, MA. We were all taught to carve caricatures by one of the best caricature carvers in the USA. His name is Pete LeClair. If you are a carver you may have heard of him he has 3 books, and he tours around the country doing teaching seminars to show other people how to carve caricatures. He has also taught in England and Australia. But enough about Pete this is my blog.
I have been told I have a unique style of carving, people say they can tell from looking at the carving that it is mine. So I guess that is a good problem, I never wanted to be a clone. I have been selling my carvings on Ebay for about 2 and a half years I have sold about 300 carvings mostly ornaments, it is nice to have people who want to buy my carvings. No matter what I carve there is always somebody who looks at what I have carved and wants me to carve something else. This is good because I'm always branching out carving new things.
